What happens in the first session?
The first session is an introductory conversation, typically lasting around 30–45 minutes. During this time, Dr. Vivek focuses on listening and understanding your current context, what has prompted you to seek support, and what you hope to gain from the process.
This session is collaborative and exploratory. There is no pressure to share more than feels comfortable. The aim is to create clarity, establish rapport, and discuss possible directions for ongoing support, if you choose to continue.
What is the duration of therapy sessions?
Two session formats are available to suit different needs:
  • Introductory conversations: approximately 30–45 minutes
  • Ongoing sessions: approximately 60–75 minutes
Longer sessions allow sufficient space for reflection, discussion, and emotional processing without feeling rushed.
How many sessions will I need?
There is no fixed number of sessions, as each person’s experience and intentions are different. Some individuals notice meaningful shifts within a few sessions, while others prefer to engage over a longer period for deeper exploration and sustained change.
Progress is reviewed collaboratively from time to time, and the pace and duration of engagement are always guided by your comfort, preferences, and evolving needs.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

Do you offer online therapy?
Yes. Online sessions are available for individuals across India and internationally through a secure video platform. This format allows participation from your own space and can be especially helpful for those with demanding schedules, mobility constraints, or who are not based locally.
Online sessions follow the same thoughtful, structured approach as in-person sessions, while allowing greater flexibility in how and where you choose to engage.
Is online therapy effective?
Many people find online sessions to be a practical and comfortable option for exploring emotional concerns, life challenges, relationship dynamics, or personal growth. Effectiveness can vary based on individual preferences, comfort with technology, and the nature of the concerns being explored.
The quality of engagement—openness, consistency, and a sense of connection—plays an important role in the experience, regardless of whether sessions are held online or in person.
What platform do you use?
Online sessions are conducted via Google Meet, a widely used and user-friendly video conferencing platform. After booking, you will receive a meeting link by email along with simple joining instructions.
To participate, you’ll need a stable internet connection, a device with a camera and microphone, and a quiet, private space where you can speak freely.

Getting the most from online sessions: Find a quiet, comfortable space where you won't be interrupted. Use headphones for better audio quality and privacy. Test your internet connection beforehand. Have water nearby and any notes you'd like to reference during the session.

What are your fees?
Session fees vary depending on the type of therapy, format (in-person or online), and duration. You'll receive transparent information about the exact fee structure when scheduling your appointment. We believe in clear communication about costs upfront so there are no surprises. Investment in your mental health is one of the most valuable commitments you can make.
Are my sessions confidential?
Absolutely. Your privacy is paramount. All therapy sessions are conducted under strict confidentiality guidelines and professional ethical standards. What you share remains between you and Dr. Vivek, never disclosed to anyone without your explicit consent, except in rare circumstances involving imminent risk of harm. This protected space allows for honest, vulnerable exploration.
Do you offer emergency or crisis intervention?
No. While supportive and therapeutic sessions are offered for a range of emotional and life challenges, Purl Wellness does not provide emergency or crisis support. Acute psychiatric situations or urgent safety concerns fall outside the scope of scheduled sessions.

Where are the sessions conducted?
Pune: Our primary location is Purl Wellness on Baner–Pashan Link Road, offering a calm, private environment designed for healing.
Nerul: Sessions are available every Sunday at Rainbow Nursing Home for clients in the Navi Mumbai area.
Online: Virtual sessions are available throughout the week, accessible from anywhere with internet connection.
Do you offer therapy for children or teenagers?
Our services are primarily designed for adults and mature teenagers aged 16 and above. We assess each situation individually to ensure age-appropriate support. For younger children, we can provide referrals to specialists who focus specifically on child and adolescent therapy.
Can I come with a family member or partner?
For your initial consultation, you're welcome to bring a trusted family member or partner if that helps you feel more comfortable. However, ongoing therapy sessions are typically conducted individually to create a safe space for personal exploration. If relationship or family dynamics are central to your concerns, couples therapy or family sessions may be recommended as an alternative approach.
